Which Class is Right for Me?

We offer a variety of stone carving classes designed for different ages, skill levels, and time commitments. Whether you are looking for a quick creative activity or a more immersive sculpting experience, there is a class suited to you.

Pendant Class (Ages 5+) Duration: Approximately 1.5–2+ hours

The Pendant Class is a great introduction to soapstone carving. Participants carve a slim, two-dimensional shape such as a heart, bear paw, or other simple design and turn it into a wearable necklace.

This class focuses on the fundamentals of shaping, sanding, and polishing stone while creating a beautiful keepsake to take home.

Mini Sculpture Class (Ages 5+) Duration: Approximately 1.5–2+ hours

In the Mini Sculpture Class, participants create a small three-dimensional carving such as a fish, animal, or abstract form. This class allows guests to explore basic sculpting techniques while working with natural stone.

It is a fun and creative introduction to carving and is popular with both children and adults.

Small, Medium, and Large Sculpture Classes Duration: Approximately 3–6+ hours

(Small Ages 8+ • Medium Ages 10+ • Large Ages 12+)

These classes are ideal for those who want to spend more time sculpting and creating a more detailed three-dimensional piece. Participants work on a larger stone and learn additional carving techniques as they refine their sculpture.

Projects can take 3–6+ hours depending on size and detail, and many guests choose to complete their piece over multiple sessions or days.

Carved Inukshuk Class (Ages 8+) Duration: Approximately 2+ hours

In this class, participants carve a traditional Inukshuk sculpture from a single block of stone. The process follows the full carving experience but focuses slightly more on shaping and surface carving rather than deep three-dimensional sculpting.

It is a meaningful project inspired by northern stone carving traditions.

Stacked Inukshuk Class (Ages 3+) Duration: Approximately 1–2 hours

The Stacked Inukshuk Class is a fun and creative experience where participants design their own Inukshuk using a selection of natural stones such as basalt, marble, and alabaster.

Guests can sand, shape, and assemble their sculpture with over 30 million possible combinations. This class is less carving-intensive but still highly creative and is a uniquely Whistler experience.

Candle Holder / Bowl Class (Ages 8+) Duration: Approximately 1–2 hours

This class focuses on carving a functional stone piece such as a small bowl, dish, or candle holder. Participants learn carving and sanding techniques while shaping a beautiful and practical object for the home.

It is a satisfying project that combines sculpture with functional design.

No matter which class you choose, all tools, materials, and instruction are provided. Each participant leaves with a hand-carved stone creation and a memorable creative experience in Whistler.
