This playful resting blackbear shows the kindness and contentment of the soft powerful black bear.  The bear, seated with an air of quiet strength showing his soft pads of his feet, and powerful claws.  The British columbian stone Black Chlorite is our only true jet black stone that we use for sculpture and is perfect choice for the Canadian black bear which captures the bear’s muscular contours.  The thoughtful positioning of the bear, with its head slightly turned, suggests a moment of introspection or alertness, inviting viewers to engage with the narrative it embodies.  Crafted with precision and artistry, this sculpture not only celebrates the majesty of the bear but also highlights the sophisticated interplay of textures and tones in stone sculpture as this was carved fromone single stone.  This work, like others from the same artist, serves as a testament to the enduring beauty and expressive potential of stone carving.
