Roimata, the teardrop, is important in Maori design. The first designs are said to come from the tears shed during the separation of Ranginui (Sky Father) and Papatuanuku (Earthmother). The modern-day meaning for the wearer has transformed to mean healing and growth after difficult challenges
This pendant also comes with a corded necklace that was hand braided.
